中华人民共和国国务院总理温家宝及马来西亚首相拿督斯里纳吉 Chinese Premier Wen JiaBao with Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Sri Haji Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak中国-东盟自由贸易区于2010年1月1日全面落实，为全球人口最多的自由贸易区。自贸区的成员国之间有九成以上的商品(逾7000种)实现零关税。据中国海关总署统计，中国－东盟自贸区成立首年，中国与东盟双边贸易额达2927.8亿美元，比上年增长37.5%，反映了自贸区取得显著的效应。
虽然自贸区为推动本区域企业向外扩张和产业升级的基石，可惜仍有很多商家未充份掌握其中的机遇。本会希望通过这项活动提升商家对此的关注。
同时，马来西亚和中国正在启动经济转型计划，中国政府在十二五计划下，经济结构调整成为当前首要目标；马来西亚也推出了新经济模式和国家经济转型计划，其中带来了许多发展项目，以期于2020年成为高收入国家，大会希望借此机会向外资介绍这些商机。 全球金融风暴之后，欧美国家经济饱受冲击，至今仍处於凄风苦雨之中，亚洲国家则趁势而起，经济强劲反弹。东盟诸国配合这股增长势头，经济蓬勃发展，中国经济也继续起飞，为商家和投资者带来了更多商机。
在这样的背景下，本会希望通过举办这场大会，加强东盟和中国商家之间的联系和对接，打造互惠互利的新平台，进而巩固和加强中国－东盟企业之间的战略夥伴关系。
Since its full implementation on 1 January 2010, China-ASEAN FTA(CAFTA) has become the largest FTA in the world by population. Over 90% of trade tariff (more than 7000 types of goods) has been revoked amongst the members of China-ASEAN FTA. According to statistics announced by Customs General Administration of China, bilateral trade between China and ASEAN reached USD 292.78billion, equivalent to an increase of 37.5%, in the first year of full implementation of China-ASEAN FTA, reflecting the significant impact of CAFTA.
Although FTA is regarded as an important stepping stone for businesses in this region to expand and upgrade their business and industry, nevertheless, many businessmen are still not fully aware of the opportunities available to them. It is our intention to draw the attentions of business community through this conference.
Meanwhile, Malaysia and China have begun to roll out their economic transformation programmes respectively. Structural change in economy has become the primary objective of China, while Malaysia has rolled out its New Economic Model and National Economic Transformation Programme, which has introduced a lot of development projects, in order to achieve high income nation in 2020. We are pleased to take this opportunity to present these business opportunities to foreign investors.
US and European countries have suffered negative economic impacts and are still struggling to recover from the global financial crisis. Asian countries, on the other hand, have emerged as a shining star with strong recovery. A strong growth of ASEAN economies brings brighter prospect for this region, together with the sustainable growth of China economy have provided businessmen and investors with a lot of opportunities.
We hope to enhance the relationship and connection between ASEAN and China business communities through this conference, in order to create a platform for a win-win situation, explore more collaboration opportunities, as well as to strengthen the strategic partnership between the business communities of china and ASEAN.
